From Solihull Town Centre: Take the B4102 Hampton Lane adjacent to Solihull School towards Hampton-in-Arden. At the Solihull by-pass turn right and then immediately left at the double traffic lights, remaining on Hampton Lane. Carry on until you enter the village of Catherine-de-Barnes whre you will pass the Boat Inn. At the farside of the hump back bridge to the right you will find a small drive with a Public Footpath sign. Go down this drive and you will find Solihull Canoe Club at the end where it merges with the towpath.
From the M42 Motorway: Leave the M42 at the NEC exit. Take the A45 towards Birmingham. Stay in the left hand lane and exit as if for Birmingham Airport but stay over to the right and take the right fork as the road splits. At the roundabout take the left turn into Catherine-de-barnes Lane. Follow this road untill you get to a roundabout and take the third exit towards Solihull. After a few hundred yards there is a hump back bridge. Just before this on the left you will find a small drive with a Public Footpath sign. Go down this drive and you will find Solihull Canoe Club at the end where it merges with the towpath.
